“Lost in Love” Life

As a person, we tend to seek for the love of other people. Let us face the fact that we need love in order to live, we need someone to accept us for who we are, we want someone who will stay with us through our ups and downs, we wanna stay with someone who will help us to stand whenever we fall, we long for true love that never fades, and we all want to receive someone who will never leave. That might be true love, but sometimes this world can be deceiving, that we won’t be able to decipher which is real and which is fake, we won’t even be able to spot the difference between the two.

They say that love moves in mysterious ways, love leads us to success, it brings us motivation, but what if the love that we have takes us away from the right path, it drives us to lose our way. Can we still call it love? or we better call it distraction? or worse, destruction? It is stated in John 3:27 that “A man can receive nothing except it be given him from heaven.” So how can you say that a love that you have can be called as ‘true love’ if it happened at the wrong time?

Have we ever asked if it is true love? Do we love the person or just the attention that we receive from our him/her? or we just love the thought the thought that we are in love? It is too hard to find love, and harder to find a true one. Sometimes that ‘love’ changes us into different person, it makes us bad, selfish, jealous, possessive and such. According to my own opinion, true love makes you a better person, it changes you into the better version of yourself as time goes by. This is what 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 says in the bible about true love, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

Why put effort on finding the right person and ends up being lost while loving him/her? Why don’t we put our best on showing Jesus how much we love Him and that we are thankful because he saved us from eternal death. He is the definition of true love, once we follow Jesus, He will never let us lose our way and He will lead us into righteousness. ❤
